Take a lead at the customer's door

Capture an enquiry on a phone, check it is not somebody you already lend to, and create the customer without going back to the branch.

Step 3 of 11 · Sales officer

A lead taken on paper is a lead somebody keys in later, usually the next morning, usually from handwriting. The field app takes it where the conversation happens.

Open the field app

Sign in at the same address as the desktop; a field officer lands on the round rather than the dashboard. The app works with no signal — anything recorded is held on the phone and sent when a tower appears.

The field app home screen, showing cash in hand, the accounts overdue by more than thirty days and how much of today's collection has been made
Home answers one question — what is left today.

Enter the number first

The duplicate check runs while the officer is still typing. A borrower the lender already knows is found now, while the officer is standing in front of them, rather than after the lead is saved — which is a merge, and somebody's afternoon.

What is asked, and what is not

Mobile, name, the lead's source and what the loan is for. The amount and tenure are indicative: the branch decides the scheme. Nothing that needs a document is asked at a gate.

The Lenviq leads screen listing enquiries with their source, status, branch, indicative amount and next follow-up date, with overdue follow-ups marked in red
  1. 1Every enquiry, whatever it came in through — field, branch, website or a sourcing partner.
  2. 2Overdue follow-ups are their own tab, because a lead nobody called is the one that is lost.
  3. 3Where the lead has reached. A rejection carries a reason rather than a silent disappearance.
  4. 4The next action and its date. Past it, the row turns and the lead surfaces in the overdue tab.
The same enquiry on the branch's screen a moment later, with the follow-up date it was promised.

Create the customer there

A lead becomes a customer first and a loan file after that. The customer record is what everything else hangs from — KYC, addresses, identity documents, income and bank details all belong to it, not to the application.

The pincode fills the state, district and town from the pincode master, so matching the branch's own address form costs one box rather than four.

Frequently asked questions

Can a lead be taken with no network?

No, and deliberately. The duplicate check runs against the book as it is now, and a lead queued for hours would be checked against a book that has moved on — which is the one thing the check exists to prevent. Collections queue offline; leads do not.

Does the branch have to re-enter anything?

No. The PAN typed at the door is not asked for again at the PAN card step, and the four things a KYC form always wants — surname, father's name, date of birth, marital status — are carried if the officer could ask them.

The rules behind this screen are explained on the blog and the terms are defined in the glossary.
