Annual percentage rate
20.10%
2.10 points above the 18% quoted
Instalment
₹24,962
× 24 months
Borrower actually receives
₹4,90,000
₹10,000 deducted before disbursement
Total repaid
₹5,99,088
₹1,09,088 more than was received
Why the two rates differ. The borrower repays as though they received ₹5,00,000, but ₹10,000 never reached them. The APR prices what actually happened; the interest rate prices only the money.
Shorten the tenure and the gap widens — the same fee is spread over fewer instalments. That is why a short-tenure loan with a flat fee can disclose an APR far above its headline rate.
Where these numbers come from
This runs the same arithmetic as the Lenviq platform, and it is held to it: the platform emits a table of worked cases from its own code, and a test here fails the build if this page reproduces any of them differently.
It is a guide, not advice. Your own board-approved policy, your scheme terms and your auditor decide what applies to a particular account.

Run your lending on Lenviq
A calculator settles one account. The reason lenders move to Lenviq is the other direction — the same rules applied to every account on the book without anyone opening a spreadsheet.
Lenviq is loan origination, servicing and accounting for NBFCs, built by FastLegal Technologies.
